Is Home Watch Valet a Security Service?
Yes, an INTERIOR security service!! A traditional security service is reactive, coming to your home only when there is an incident that sets off an alarm. Home Watch Valet is proactive, conducting comprehensive, scheduled surveys to detect problems before they become big. We can detect issues that a security service cannot because we are inside visually surveying looking for trouble. If our clients desire, we partner with their traditional security service to provide total interior and exterior coverage.
Do you perform Home Inspections?
No, home inspections are usually performed when houses are being sold to ensure that they are basically sound and include inspections of attics, crawl spaces, etc. Our Exclusive barefoot surveys are designed to detect the type of issues that you would see if you were living in the home.
What is your ‘exclusive barefoot survey’?
Our Exclusive barefoot survey is a comprehensive look at your home which makes use of the sensitivity of your feet while also keeping your home impeccably clean. Not actually ‘barefoot’, we wear special medical grade booties to detect minor floor imperfections that could signal a water leak, ants, broken glass, ceiling debris, etc. This also ensures that your carpets and other flooring are kept spotless during our surveys.
How do I know that the house is being looked at regularly?
Our results can be emailed to you at the completion of the survey at your request. Each client is assigned a personal Valet to ensure continuity of surveys as well as an individual you have personally met face to face.
What if a bad storm happens?
Both the Valet and Concierge Plans have a contingency for additional visits to make sure that your home is secure and to evaluate any damage that may have occurred during a storm.
Are condo rates the same?
Condos where all the outside maintenance is performed by the association ARE eligible for a different rate. Please call us at our toll free number 888-HWVALET (888-498-2538) for more information.
What do you do when you discover a problem?
- Concierge Plan- We contact your service provider (eg pool service, pest control, lawn service, FP&L, Phone etc) and correct the problem ourselves instead of calling you. In the case of damage, we will mitigate the problem up to the dollar limit agreed to in advance. We notify you of what we corrected and no further action is required by you.
- Valet Plan- We notify you of the situation for you to follow up with your service provider. If the problem involves damage to the home, we will perform basic mitigation to prevent further damage up to a dollar limit agreed to in advance.
Do I need Home Watch Valet if I already have homeowners insurance?
Homeowners insurance will correct damage caused by an unforeseen incident for which you are covered. You can avoid the hassles of claims, contractors in your house for months, constant disruptions with phone calls, meetings, claims adjusters, etc by avoiding the loss or mitigating the damage in the first place. In today’s insurance climate, you, as the homeowner, are expected to have shown due diligence in watching your property and mitigating damage as soon as it is detected. Some Insurance will deny claims for property that is vacant for more than 60 days without other provisions being made.
Is there a discount on my homeowners insurance for using Home Watch Valet?
Some Insurance Companies will provide a discount for property that is vacant for a long period but overseen by Home Watch Valet. We can provide a letter to you for this purpose. Contact your individual insurance carrier to determine if this applies to your policy.

Do you place house sitters in homes?
Absolutely not. Our clients do not want anyone living in their home. We give them total assurance that the house is taken care of without anyone living there.
